
CT Group of Institution at Jalandhar on Tuesday organising Anemia Detection Camp for girls.

Jalandhar, January 21, 2014: Anemia is a wide spreading condition in our society due to various reasons like nutritional deficiency, socio-economic and demographic factors. The recent survey have shown that in India approx 50% girls are suffering from this condition whereas the ratio of the anemia suffering in boys falls around 30%.
With a noble cause of detecting this detrimental condition, CT Group of Institutions organized ‘Anemia Detection Camp for girls’ under the guidance & supervision of Civil Hospital Jalandhar and Indian Medical Association at Government Senior Secondary School Mithapur, Jalandhar. During the camp, more than 300 students were examined. A contingent of 10 Team Members comprising of doctors and technicians from Civil Hospital, IMA- Jalandhar branch & CT Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences contributed effectively to estimate the hemoglobin in children and advised them for proper diet , medication wherever required under the guidance of Dr. Gagandeep Singh from Civil Hospital Jalandhar.
Addressing the occasion Dr. Gagandeep Singh said, “One way to prevent iron deficiency anemia is to increase iron intake through diet. You can get iron from a variety of foods especially leafy green vegetables. The chief reason of anemia among girls is to skip proper diet for reducing body weight amongst others. Dr Deepali Luthra & Dr Pratibha Mittal counseled the Young girls for their health & intellect perspectives with nutrition and life style and given them certain tips to prevent anemia.”
Sharing the views Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman CT Group of Institutions said, “CT Group of Institutions has organised various health awareness camps & campaigns like cancer awareness campaign, Hepatitis Awareness camp, Heart care camps etc. The camps conducted by the CT Group are as a part of its socio responsibility activities.
