International Women’s Day being celebrated at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar on Saturday.

Jalandhar, March 8, 2014: Social Sensitisation Society celebrated International Women’s Day on the Campus of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar in which the Students presented impressive ideas for the promotion of women’s position in the society through poems, speeches, and songs.  

The Chief Guest Sukhi Brar, (Sukhminder Brar) renowned Punjabi singer and social and cultural activist stressed that women should participate in all Social and Professional activities and work shoulder to shoulder with men in building up a judicious and fair society through her very interesting lecture.

The theme speaker Principal J.C Joshi an eminent scholar, historian, author and translator of William Shakespeare’s works in to Hindi, Panjabi and Urdu extensively reflected on the eminent position of women in the historical Perspective. He strongly advocated the view that women should come forward in every field.

Jaspal Singh Waraich, Joint Secretary, Governing Council, presided over the function. Principal Dr. G. S. Samra thanked the guests. Prof. Sarita Tewari, Convener, Social Sensitisation Society Compered the programme.
