HMV, Jalandhar on Friday organising Inter College Competition on ‘Pi Day’.

Jalandhar, March 14, 2014: The Mathematics Department of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organised an Inter College Competition on the occasion of ‘Pi Day’.
The students of various college presented Power Point Presentations and Posters on Pi Day. Head of Maths Department Gagandeep welcomed Principal Dr. Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj, Ex. Head of Maths Department Sneh Sharma, teachers and students of various colleges and told about the importance of Pi.
Principal Dr. Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj addressed the students and said that Maths is not only about calculations. It is applicable in everybody’s life. In this inter college competition, 21 PPTs and 22 posters were presented. The judges of PPTs were Sneh Sharma and Gagandeep. The judges of Poster competition were Dean Academics Meenakshi Syal and Head of Computer Science Department Sangeeta Arora. In PPT, Surbhi Soni and Shreya Jain of HMV got 1st prize. Aanchal and Lovepreet of RR Bawa DAV College For Girls Batala and Jaspreet Kaur of BD Arya Girls College won 2nd prize. Shivangi of HMV and Manpreet and Jugat of KMV won 3rd prize. Consolation prizes were given to Akhil Dinesh and Harnoor of DAV College and Sangeeta and Sunpreet of HMV. In poster making competition, Aditi Sharma of PCM SD College for Women and Deeksha of HMV won 1st prize. Jeevanjot of RR Bawa DAV College for Girls Batala won 2nd prize and Manisha of HMV won 3rd prize. Sneh Sharma thanked the guests and motivated the students to work hard for achieving the best results.
On this occasion, HOD Gagandeep, Dean Academics M. Syal, Dean Student Council Dr. Rama Chaudhary, Saroj Mahajan, Shruti, Parneet and Savneet were also present.
