Jalandhar, March 21, 2014: Upholding the strategies, approaches and activities of the Election Commission of India, CT Group of Institutions organised an awareness seminar, ‘Wake up Jalandhar- the power of voting’ at its premises today.

Being an expert and experienced implementer in voters’ education, Deputy Commissioner of District Jalandhar, Varun Roojam, awakened young student voters of the institutions about their right to vote.

Roojam said, “The youth have to turn up at polling stations in large numbers and vote for a change in the way the government is run,” he said. “We need more security for women and quality in education. There is a need that our youngsters should unite and raise of development standards of our democratic country,” he said.

Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman of CT Group of Institutions, Dr. Manoj Kumar Group Director and District Councilor Surjit Lal, Vice-Chairman Harpreet Singh Channi also asked students to be ever ready to utilise their voting power in a proper way.

Chairman, Charanjit Singh Channi said “We organised the event targeting the youth, who seem rather hesitant to cast their vote. This way, the message is absorbed quickly and effectively. A positive change will come if the entire youth force votes.”

The seminar was very informative, and was designed to sensitize the young voters about voting process. DC interacted with the enthusiastic students, and answered all their queries about the Indian Election system.
