Jalandhar, April 26, 2014: Chandrayaan Vipnet Club of Department of Physics of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya celebrated World Earth Day in the collegiate school.
Principal Dr Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj encouraged the students to save environment and conserve energy.
Renuka Bhatti, HOD Physics and Coordinator of the Club presented the global theme of this year ‘Green Cities’ and motivated the students to save energy in their daily routine for greener tomorrow.
Bhupinder Kaur, HOD Chemistry apprised the students about five elements of life and to save them. There was slogan-cum-poster writing and power point presentation competition for students followed ‘tree plantation’. Nishtha, Riya Guleria, Puneet and Parminder Kaur got first, second, third and appreciation prize in slogan-cum-poster competition. Tanya, Aishwarya, Damanjeet, Ashin Gill and Ankita got first, second, third and appreciation prize in PPT competition. ‘Tree Plantation’ was done by Principal, faculty and students in science lawn. 8 students had donated the plants.
