
KMV, Jalandhar on Wednesday organising Faculty Development Programme.

Jalandhar, May 14, 2014: KMV has taken the initiative of organising faculty development programme. This programme aims at the enhancement of the skill, knowledge and expertise of the highly qualified and capable faculty of KMV. A series of presentations, lectures from within the faculty and also by learned & erudite experts from outside are a part of this programme.
The lead lecture in the series was by the Principal Prof. Atima Sharma. She stressed on the need of updating ones knowledge by keeping in sync with the global scenario. She also emphasized the need of e-based teaching- learning in the contemporary system of education. She also appreciated the KMV faculty for incorporating e- content in their lectures. She adumbrated that good learners can make good teachers and so this was an opportunity for the faculty members to better themselves.
The second presentation in the series was by Dr. Madhumeet on the topic “Meeting Minutes writing”. Meetings are very important for the organisations and the decisions taken during meetings have lasting impact on institution. So far this meeting minutes should be taken very carefully and professionally. Dr. Madhumeet, PG Dept. of English extensively delved into witty gritty of minutes writing like the presentation required before taking down the minutes, how to take down the minutes, don’t while minutes writing et al.
Dr. Ekta, Head Dept of JMC made a presentation on “Report Writing”. Writing reports for media coverage is a very significant job which should be carried out with much responsibility and a proper format should be followed while writing reports.
Suman Khurana , Head, PG Dept. of Computer Science& applications made an extensive presentation on “using e- content”. In the contemporary scenario using e- content adds to Professionalism in education. Mrs. Khurana informed the faculty how to access various sites and make best use of e- content.
These presentations were made using audio-visual aids and were of great worth to the faculty members. The next presentation in the series will be on Saturday on Healthy Eating Habits by Dr. Mandeep Kaur from Dept. of Biotech.
