Ferozepur, March 26, 2013: In the elections held at Bathinda on Monday of All India Students Federation’s National Students Union of India (NSUI), the Tibbi Group gave tough fight to Multani Group by wining 8 seats out of total 12 seats.
In this way, all the important office-bearers were from Tibbi Group. Harpal Singh Tibbin was elected as District President while Tejinder Singh Hang, Gurkirat Singh, Vipan Deep Singh and Ashinka Sushra, all general secretaries, Amandeep Singh, vice president, Gurmanmir Singh Sandhu and Garsimran Preet Singh, secretary were elected.
In all, 263 delegates participated, out of which 174 votes were in favour of Tibbi Jang and the remaining 83 to Harpreet Singh Multani Group while 6 votes were rejected.
It is pertinent to mention here that for the last 8 years, NSUI is being run by Gurbhej Tibbi group and the maximum delegates were from Ferozepur District.
On this occasion, the representatives of various colleges were present.
