
Students of The British School, Chandigarh participating in a salad making competition, organised on the occasion of French Day celebrations.
Chandigarh, July 17, 2014: Students of The British School, Chandigarh from classes II to X participated in an Intra-class French Group song competition to celebrate French Day. Songs based on counting, La Famille Luberu, Le Petite Train and Mademoiselle voulez vous? were sung. The entire exercise was conducted in order to build French speaking skills in the students and at the same time inculcate a love for different cultures.
To make the celebrations more colourful, a healthy salad competition in which the junior wing students participated was also organised. Creativity of both parent and student was evident in the beautiful display of peacocks carved out of vegetables, watermelon fruit baskets and bicycles created from capsicum.
Said Mrs. Mona Sethi, Principal, “The French Day celebration was an activity, which helped students gain awareness about France and the French language. The Salad competition was an icing on the cake and a good way to wrap up the event.”
According to Mannat a student who took part in the French Day Celebrations, “It was an exciting activity I learnt more about French culture and enjoyed the salad competition too.”
The event not only helped students unwind and enjoy themselves but also built their Inter-personal skills.
