Ludhiana, March 27, 2013: The Annual Convocation of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana was held in Guru Nanak Hall on Tuesday.
Dr. Arun Kumar Grover, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest on the occasion. About 300 Graduates and Post Graduates were conferred degrees in Arts, Science, Commerce and Computer Science.
Prof. Sohinderjit Singh, President, Gujranwala Khalsa Education Council accorded a warm welcome to the Chief Guest mentioning his academic concerns and administrative assignments for the cause of education.
Principal Gurdev Singh, presented the Annual Report of the Session 2012-13 highlighting the achievements of the faculty and students including academic, extra-curricular and sports.
The Chief Guest Dr. Arun Kumar Grover congratulated the staff and students for their accomplishments. He traced the history of higher education in India and underlined the contribution of Swami Vivekananda in its growth. He stressed the need of research orientation in academics to extract meaningful results.
Dr. S. P. Singh, Senior Vice President, Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council and former Vice Chancellor Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar also spoke.
