A discussion on the topic `Energy Conservation- Essential to Earth Survival’ being organised jointly by P.G. Department of English and the NCC Unit at KMV, Jalandhar.
Jalandhar, March 30, 2013: To commemorate World Earth Day a discussion on the topic `Energy Conservation- Essential to Earth Survival’ was organised jointly by P.G. Department of English and the NCC Unit at KMV, Jalandhar.
Students of B.C.A. and B.Sc. I.T. II Semester participated in the discussion. Many fruitful suggestions like using public transport instead of private vehicles, consuming less of electricity by limiting use of electrical gadgets. Using alternative sources of energy for daily use like solar energy, wind energy, hydro power, nuclear energy instead of fossil fuels like petroleum and coal were made. The students were exhorted to switch off all electrical gadgets from 8 : 30 to 9 : 30 p.m.
Principal Dr. Atima Sharma congratulated the organisers and students for organising a talk on an issue relevant to the survival of the whole globe.
