Jalandhar, August 22, 2014: KMV, Jalandhar’s Department of Environmental Sciences, Botany & Zoology and Saplings of Life Club organised a tree plantation derive. It was inaugurated by Prof Atima Sharma, Principal, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya by planting a sapling. Many more saplings were planted by the faculty members and the students in the botanical garden of the college.
On this occasion innovative method for promoting plantation was also adopted. Balloons which had packets of seed tied to them bearing the message “ Plant Me” were released in the air with the noble intent of sensitising the students and society alike about the importance of tree plantation.
Prof. Atima Sharma addressed the students and emphasised on the need of greener and cleaner environment. The youth of today must ensure to create environmental awareness to people around them. She also appreciated this endeavour.
Present on the occasion were Sadhana Tandon, Head Department of Life Sciences, Dr.Madhumeet, Dean Student Welfare, Reecha Sharma, Dr.Savita, Sonam, Madhavi, Shabnam, Priya and Priyanka.
