Workshop on adolescence education programme at Apeejay School

Workshop on adolescence education programme being held at Apeejay School, Jalandhar on Monday.

Jalandhar, August 26, 2014: A workshop in ‘Adolescence Education Programme’ was conducted at Apeejay School, Jalandhar for the students of classes VIII, IX & X. The AEP was held under the stewardship of Principal Mrs. Madhu Sharma. The Resource Person for the workshop was M.R.Shiplay, Associate Principal, Apeejay School, Navi Mumbai.

The workshop focused on educating students who are on the threshold of adolescence on have become adolescents. The objectives of the workshop were:

              To understand types of substances and drugs; signs and symptoms of continuous intake of drugs on a daily basis and the consequences of Drug Abuse.

              To have self esteem and self-awareness with clarity on challenge stereotype discussion among boys and girls.

              To learn how to handle peer pressure and enhance decision making skills.

              To develop meditation and creative visualization.

Students were quite benefited after the workshop and evaluated themselves on 1 to 10 grade point on what all they had learnt and imbibed from the workshop.

Principal Madhu Sharma thanked Shiplay for the knowledge able workshop conducted by her that has profited students a lot. She opined that such workshop help in relieving the ongoing stress among adolescents at the time when many physical and emotional changes are taking place in them.

She promised students to hold such workshops in future as well.
