Ludhiana, April 1, 2013: Globally acclaimed mathematician Anand Kumar today announced that Punjab students from the underprivileged sections of society would be considered this year also for becoming a part of Super 30, a select group of 30 students who are given personalised coaching by him at Patna for the IIT-JEE Entrance Exams, thus increasing their chances manifold of finding success. As in the earlier years, all Super 30 students will be on full scholarship including tuition plus free boarding and lodging at Patna provided by Anand Kumar’s Ramanujan School of Mathematics (RSM). The Punjab talent hunt programme is a partnership between RSM, Patna and Bhai Jaitajee Foundation (BJF), Chandigarh and is now in its fourthyear of operation.
The Screening Test for Punjab students will be on April 21, 2013 at J Ramgarhia Girls College, Milarganj, Ludhiana, NV Sector 25 Chandigarh and Modern Senior Secondary School, Patiala. Based on the experience of the past 3 years, it has been decided to restrict the Test to students who have cleared 10+2 exam in 2012 or earlier. Forms for Entrance Test are available from BJF’s administrative office at Sri Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan, Plot No.1, Madhya Marg, Sector 28-A, Chandigarh or can bed own loaded from the website: www.bjfindia.com.The last date for the submission of Super 30 form is April 10 by post and April 15 by hand and CSIO form last date is April 10, 2013 by post and by hand.
This year BJF has also decided to select the students of Class 10 and + 2 for Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO), Entrance Exam Coaching 2013. CSIO is a premier national laboratory dedicated to research, design and development of scientific and industrial instruments.
This organisation has a 3 year diploma program established with Swiss collaboration. Pass outs from this programme are highly valued in the Indian industry and abroad with starting salary from Rs.10,000 to 50,000 per month.
In the Super 30 program, 3 students from Punjab joined the program in 2010 in Patna and were eventually selected for IIT’s in2011. In 2012, one student from Punjab joined the program and is certain to clear IIT-JEE 2013.

Anand Kumar isan Indian mathematician and a columnist for various national and international mathematical journals and magazines. He is well known for his Super 30 programme, which he started in Patna, Bihar in 2002 and which provide free coaching for economically backward students for IIT-JEE, the entrance examination for the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). By 2012, 263 of the 300 Super 30students had made it to IITs
Discovery Channel showcased his work in a documentary and half a page has been devoted to Kumar in The New York Times. Actress and ex-Miss Japan Norika Fujiwara visited Patna to make a documentary on Anand’s initiatives. Kumar has been featured in programmes by the BBC. Kumar is in the Limca Book of Records (2009) for his contribution in helping poor students crack IIT-JEE by providing them free coaching. Time Magazine has selected mathematician Anand Kumar's school -Super 30 - in the list of Best of Asia 2010. Anand Kumar was awarded the S. Ramanujan Award for 2010 by the Institute for Research and Documentation in Social Sciences (IRDS) in July2010.
Super 30received praise from United States President Barack Obama's special envoy Rashad Hussain, who termed it the“best” institute in the country. Newsweek Magazine has taken note of the initiative of mathematician Anand Kumar’sSuper 30 and included his school in the list of four most innovative schools inthe world. Anand Kumar has been awarded by top award of Bihar government "Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad Shiksha Puraskar" in November 2010.[ He was awarded the Prof Yashwantrao Kelkar Yuva Puraskar 2010 by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in Bangalore.
