Chandigarh, April 30, 2013: The Punjab Government has decided to start online admissions in the ITIs from current academic session. Anil Joshi, Technical Education and Industrial Training Minister, Punjab today held a meeting of the all principals of ITIs of the state to finalise the modalities of online admission process.
The Minister further said that the government has also to introduce semester system in the ITIs. He said that the ITIs have been told to launce new trades in the session 2013-14 under IDP scheme to facilitate the students getting better opportunities for employment. He directed ITIs to approach quality council of India to get the trades affiliated. He also reviewed the machinery being brought for the new trades.
The Minister also asked the principals to get in touch with industries to ensure more and more placement of the students besides conducting workshops to enhance the personality and communication skills of the students, He said that within the period of one year 700 new posts have been created/revejunated. "145 allied trade instructors, mechanical instructors and fitters, who have been working on contract basis are being regularized within week", said the minister. Prominent who were present in the meeting included A. R. Talwar, Principal Secretary, B. Purusartha, director, Daljit kaur, additional director ITIs.
