Students of J&K had an opportunity to visit religiously sacred place “Golden Temple” where they prayed for peace, prosperity and tranquility of the Kashmir Valley.

Amritsar, January  28, 2013: The educational-cum-motivational tour for a group of 25 students and teachers from different schools of Rafiabad area of north Kashmir ’s Baramullah district, one of the most volatile and worst hit areas during the turmoil of militancy, experienced new vistas for their destiny, in areas beyond the Valley.

They visited Holy city Amritsar, today.

The tour is scheduled to visit Jammu, Amritsar, Delhi, Raigarh and Raipur (both in Chhattisgarh), is aimed at giving them an idea of new dimensions of the technology enabled education and the unlimited possibilities that globalisation and progress in other parts of india have brought about.

Ten boys and 10 girls, two lady teachers and three male teachers are among those whose long cherished dream of panning their lives beyond Valley was realised through a modest effort by the 30 and 32 RR, forming part of prestigious Kilo Force of Indian Army.

Students of J&K had an opportunity to visit religiously sacred place “Golden Temple” where they prayed for peace, prosperity and tranquility of the Kashmir Valley. They also visited the historical and well-known Jallianwala Bagh.

They were very jubilant to get a chance to witness the parade at Attari Check Post. Visit to such places of historical value is providing an opportunity to the Kashmiri children to gain awareness about the cultural diversity, grandeur and economic development of the country. For the students forming part of the tour, this is the first exposure to the wonder world that lies beyond the horizons of Rafiabad.

Students of J&K may have grown under the shadow of the guns and restricted avenues of growth, yet their dreams, desires and faith in themselves is soaring high.

They all want to touch the sky through their relentless efforts, leaving behind the scars that gunfights and bloodsheds of past may have created.

Their excitement to see places and be a part of the technology driven education that they will be exposed to, is so very evident from their expressions.

“It is a fabulous and the most wonderful experience of our life time" said Sameera, a student of 10th class. She further added that "this experience will do a lot of good to me when I will plan my higher studies outside the state and map my future course".

Another class 10th  girl student, Abida  said  "I am availing this opportunity because of army who is organising such events and creating opportunities for us to see the cultural heritage of different states of our country".

Another student of 8th class Umar said "the role of army is immensely important in shaping and guiding our future".

Barakat of 10th class said "our parents have full trust on army. Without their patronage, tour like this would have been incomplete. I must appreciate army the way they are putting their efforts to involving youngsters in different activities".
