Chandigarh, February 2, 2013: A meeting of Employees of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti was held today at JNV Chandigarh in which representatives of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas from the States of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh participated.
The representatives expressed their resentment for non implementation of GPF cum Pension Scheme 1972 in Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti despite the fact that Samiti has completed more than 25 years.
It is relevant to mention here that Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are residential schools situated in rural remote areas one in each district where service conditions of the teaching and non teaching staff are very hard. They are supposed to remain in the campus round the clock, these Vidyalayas being residential in nature. However, due to non implementation of Pension Scheme 1972 they are feeling frustrated, therefore, the representatives decided that for deciding further course of action meetings of the associations may be held state wise on February 17 for H.P. State at JNV Solan(H.P.), for Punjab State at Desbhagat Yadgar Hall, Jalandhar on February 23 and at JNV Udhampur for J&K State on February 24.
The JAC of Chandigarh region further resolved that they will not participate in the Indefinite Strike call given by the JAC CEC for February 6.
