Jalandhar, July 11, 2013: The NSS Unit of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organised an awareness programme on ‘World Population Day’ in collaboration with Health Department here today.
Dr. R.L. Bassan, Civil Surgeon, Jalandhar was the Chief Guest. The college Principal Dr. Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj gave a floral welcome to the guests and addressed the students, motivating them to understand that population control is highly important for progress and development.
The Chief Guest said that increasing population is a big obstacle in the progress of the nation and it is necessary to have a control over it.
Dr. Shiv Dayal Mali, District Family Welfare also presented his views on the need to check population.
The students of Civil Hospital Nursing School presented a poem and a song on the topic population explosion. Jeshtha, a student of HMV also award the gathering by reciting a poem on population explosion.
NSS Programme Officer Mahima Khosla, Kuljeet Kaur and Pawan were also present on the occasion.
