FDP on Finite Element Methods to solve engineering problems

Ludhiana, July 22, 2013: TEQIP-II sponsored one week faculty development programme (FDP) on "Finite Element Methods to solve engineering problems" was inaugurated on Monday by chief guest Dr. M.S. Saini, the Director, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana by lighting lamp with other dignitaries.

This FDP was organised by Civil Engineering Department, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana with the support of Indian Geotechnical Society Ludhiana chapter, Testing and Consultancy Cell, GNDEC Ludhiana.

The experts and participants were welcomed by Prof. Gurdeepak Singh Kler, the coordinator of FDP.

Dr. M.S. Saini educated the audience about the applications of finite element methods in engineering and allied fields.

The guest of honour was Dr. I.V. Singh from IIT Roorkee. The participants were either engineering or mathematical background and from different parts of country.

Dr. H.S. Rai as chief coordinator of FDP gave overview of the course. Dr. J.N. Jha gave the information about TEQIP and its benefits to faculty and college.
