Pragmatic Learning for Entrepreneurs at CT Group of Institutions

Jalandhar, August 21, 2013: Working with a mission to provide employable skills to the students of the region interested to work in hospitality sector, CT Group of Institutions is going to start a Free Hospitality Training Programme ‘Huner Se Rozgar’ under the capacity Building Scheme of Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India at CT Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (CTIHM & CT), Maqsudan and CTIHM (Shapur) Campus, Jalandhar with effect from September 1 this year.

On the whole 14 batches have been approved by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and out of which six batches have been sanctioned to CT Institute of Hotel Management, Jalandhar. The courses will include Bakery & Patisseries, Food production, F&B service & Housekeeping.

Four batches of students have already passed out from this programme & have got placed in star rating hotels of India. Under this programme they got guidance in Food Production at the Advance Food Kitchens & Labs of the Institute. CT experts provided meticulous training to these students to equip them with practical knowledge required to work in the kitchens of good Hotels and Restaurants in India and abroad as well. The hotel visits, regular PPT presentations, practical training for the preparation of various Indian, Chinese, Mexican, French, Italian cuisines have been devised as the major part of their erudition. The students, who wish to join this programme, are generally from the rural background and are having minimum qualification of 8th or above being required to join this programme.

Giving details of this programme, Rohit Sarin, Principal of CTIHM &CT shared that all these students would get a certificate duly issued by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India after the successful completion of this programme. Apart from this, as per the Scheme of Ministry of Tourism, all the students would get token stipend, a set of uniform to wear during the training period and a tool kit required to work in the kitchen. This way the programme provides both practical training and financial support to students undergoing this programme.

The trainees would get a better start in the Hospitality Sector. Moreover, they can also start their own restaurants, hotels, motels, food joints etc. after getting training under this programme from the hands of the experts.

Chairman CT Group Charanjit Singh Channi expressed his thanks to the Directorate of Tourism, Punjab Government in general and Ministry of Tourism, Gov. of India in particular to grant permission to run this course at their Institute & make it successful .He further mentioned that such programmes would be helpful for the students in making career in hotel & hospitality sector.
