Koshish -cultural festival of PCTE at Baddowal (Ludhiana) being held on Friday.
Ludhiana, September 20, 2013: The prelude to the main event was nothing less than a main event in itself with emotions, excitement, intensity, pressure, team work all at full display here at PCTE, not to mention the aching legs, last minute break downs, the Goosebumps, the nervous moments, that lump in the throat feeling. In the end everyone who is a part of KOSHISH is a champion in their own rights.
Koshish cultural Festival of PCTE enthralled the audience with extraordinary display of talent and skills of their students on PCTE stage. The day started with folk dance girls in which fourteen teams from senior wing participated. Students presented rich culture of Indian folk and Western folk dances such as Gujarati dance, Rajasthani dance, Spanish Dance, Punjabi Gidha, Luddi, Bamboo dance, Laavani, Maharashtra dance and many other unique dance forms from different parts of the country. Audiences and judges appreciated the hard work and execution of various performances. In folk dance boys senior wing eleven teams participated. Students rocked the stage with dances such as Bhangra, Malwai Gidha, Jhumar etc.
Events like Choreography also become center of attraction for the audiences in which students come up with themes based on various social evils of society, leaving a strong message for the present and future generations to come
Special attraction of the day was “Teacher Awards”. These awards were started by PCTE in the year 2008 to encourage teachers who become role models for their students not only in teaching but also as human being. Through the survey eleven teachers were selected who were nominated by maximum no of students in the college. It was nostalgic moment for the teachers when they listened to good wards about them of their students whom they had taught in the past. They said this is the best moment of teacher’s life when a teacher is being appreciated by students.
Final attraction of the day was fashion show in which fifteen teams of the Senior wing participated and about 200 students walked on the ramp of PCTE. Students come up with some of the best fashion styles, trends and clothes in the field of fashion. Event was enlightened by glamour and professional catwalk of PCTE students.
Dr.K.N.S.Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of institutes said that festival enters its peak stage where students showed best of their talent. He said that students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm and spirit of winning was truly demonstrated in their performance and behavior. Dr. Kang also congratulated all the faculty members who won the best teachers awards and said that teachers are builders of the nation and society. Such recognitions will act as morale booster for teaching community to contribute towards society by inspiring youth of country.
