Chandigarh, February 20, 2013: The Punjab Government today directed the School authorities to ensure that farewell functions being organised in High and Senior Secondary Schools should be strictly according to our rich cultural values and categorically made it clear that there would be zero tolerance for playing any improper music.
K.S. Pannu, Secretary-cum-Director General Education said that it was come to his notice that during such farewell parties, contrary to our cultural traditions, loud and improper music was being played which not only vitiates the school atmosphere but also affects badly the young minds. He directed District Education Officers (S), District Education Officers and other inspection teams to check such practice, if founds anywhere. He said that to keep the sanctity of our education institutes, it was our duty to ensure that these programmes should be strictly according to our cultural traditions.
