Jalandhar News- Apeejayites impress Dutch Mentors during International Design Week-2

The 27 theme based project prepared by 330 students participating in the International Design Week-2 being organised by Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar in collaboration with Willem de Kooning Academy for Fine Arts and Design (WdKA), Rotterdam, Netherlands were put up before a panel of jury comprising four Dutch Resource Persons.

Jalandhar, September 27, 2013: The 27 theme based project prepared by 330 students participating in the International Design Week-2 being organised by Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar in collaboration with Willem de Kooning Academy for Fine Arts and Design (WdKA), Rotterdam, Netherlands were put up before a panel of jury comprising four Dutch Resource Persons. Prof. Maarten Regouin, Prof. Bas Kortmann, Prof. Paul Pos and Prof. Renate Boere.

The students impressed the judges with their presentations on the themes of Hygienic, Safety of Women, Communication, Old Age, Public Space, Transport etc. The students displayed originality and creativity in coming up solutions to tackle the problems of keeping Jalandhar clean, eve teasing, recycling  to reduce wastage, diabetes and other health problems etc.

The Dutch Mentors expressing their appreciation said that the Indian Students had the potential to become successful designers other global level provided they are encouraged to think “out of the box”, a popular Dutch expression that means that they should search for original and multiple solutions that come from having a different perspective of the problem.
