KMV PG Dept of Hindi organises two-day workshop in translation

K.M.V., Jalandhar's P.G. Dept. of Hindi organising a two-day workshop on translation. 

Jalandhar, February 21, 2013: In collaboration with ‘Bhartiya Anuvad Parishad’, New Delhi K.M.V.’s P.G. Dept. of Hindi has organised a two-day workshop on translation. 

This has specially been organised for students of one year P.G. Diploma Course in Translation (Hindi-Eng-Hindi). 

As many as 125 participants from various institution attended the workshop.

Reader Department of Hindi Delhi University Dr. Puranchand Tandon was the main speaker for the first day. 

Dr. Harish Sethi also from Delhi University spoke on “Practical Literary and Media Translation”.  He highlighted the common and the different aspects of these different kinds of translation.  He also introduced to the students what translation actually meant, in what diverse fields it could be applied, difficulties involved in day to day life their solution and tools which could be used for translation.

Alongwith their discourse on translation both the speakers explored the possibilities of employment as an expert in Hindi and as a translation expert.  They also spoke about possibilities of computer adopting the Hindi language. 

Principal KMV Dr. Atima Sharma asserted that translation was not only an excellent way of learning new languages, but it built bridges across abysses that divided nations and communities and would help to build a world where there would be more positive interaction and better co-operation.
