
KMV, Jalandhar on Saturday celebrates International Women’s Day.

Jalandhar, March 8, 2014: ‘Amarjyoti ’ –KMV’s unique practice to mark the ceremonial close of an academic session and give valedictory wishes to its girl students was celebrated on International Women ’s Day today. The chief guest of the day Anuradha Sondhi, member of KMV Managing Committee and the Guest of Honour Dr Satpal Gupta, member of KMV Managing Committee were accorded floral felicitations by the Principal Dr Atima Sharma.
Reading out the detailed report of the college achievements, she expressed with a sense of pride that the tradition of handing over the symbolic lamp of knowledge by outgoing batch of scholars to the junior batch is celebrated every year in KMV with great solemnity and sanctity. Upholding the tradition of excellence, all the student editors of the college magazine ‘Divya’ and many other meritorious students were awarded medals and certificates for their exemplary performance in multifarious activities held during the session. As a mark of respect to women achievers on International Women’s Day, the college honoured Daljeet Kaur, Satinder Kaur, and Mohini Sharda, the teachers who superannuated recently, for their dedicated services to the institution.
Wishing all the outgoing students for their successful careers, Anuradha Sondhi addressed them by adding that education , in present times, should aim at creating empowered individuals without any gender discrimination, enabling them to brave the challenges of global era. The Principal Dr. Sharma expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished guests.
