A multi faculty interactive seminar being organised in Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar on Tuesday.
Jalandhar, July 15, 2014: A multi faculty interactive seminar was organised in Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar on Tuesday in which the resource person Sangeet Sharma, a renowned architect who is devoted to cause of sustainable architecture, delivered a lecture titled ‘The Working of a Good Design’. He touched upon the evolution of design in all spheres such as Art, Architecture, Fashion, Sculpture, Painting etc. The talk highlighted the importance of a good design, and also elaborated on the utility, understanding, application and management of a noteworthy design. The architect showed various examples from the projects handled by him to illustrate his point. The lecture motivated the students to create designs that were functional, aesthetic, attractive, innovative and above all sustainable. The interesting presentation was followed by a ‘Design Jamboree’ a design based game which involved on-the-spot intuitive imagination of the students.
Principal Dr. Sucharita said that it is important to sensitize a young designers about the need for sustainable architecture in the 21st century India. The seminar had active and enthusiastic participation by the students of departments of Design, Applied Art and Multimedia.
