Ludhiana, September 3, 2014: Taking notice of epidemic of drugs in Punjab, Dr Dharam Singh, Principal, SCD Government College, Ludhiana, have taken positive initiative to spread awareness among students to take out rally in the city. Hundreds of youth and students of SCD College, comprising NCC Air Wing and Army Wing, NSS, and youth services Punjab under the guidance of Prof Hardeep Singh, Prof Harbilas Hira, Prof Pooran Singh and Prof Rajkumar Miglani hundreds of students participated in rally.
In collaboration with Brahmakumaris, a drug awareness exhibition was displayed outside the Sahir Auditorium. It depicts how alcohol and smoking and other forms of drugs can damage the vital parts of the body and even can cause to death. The person who take drugs beat his wife and children, release foul smell when open his mouth, will theft or threat the parents for more money to purchase the drugs. But question is how to overcome this menace. First of all parents should give more love to the drug addict in the family and tries to understand which vacuum of person force him to go for drugs. Then fill that vacuum this acceptability will heal the person. To get rid of dependency in addiction one needs will power and confidence. Raja yoga meditation enhances these qualities.
All the students in the rally take pledge not to take drugs.
