GGNIMT Alumni share their experiences at “Entrepreneur Awareness Programme” at GGNIMT

Entrepreneur Awareness Programme being held at GGNIMT, Ludhiana on Wednesday.

Ludhiana, September 3, 2014: The final day of “Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme” at GGNIMT concluded with the experiences of the GGNIMT alumni who proved their mettle in entrepreneurship. This part of the program intended to highlight the challenges and remedies associated with entering into a new venture and diversifying the family business. Rishabh Dua, Promoter and Director, Coffee table Inc. was the first speaker of the day. He traced his journey from his days at GGNIMT to his venture into coffee tables. He advocated that the initial vision of a business should focus on building clientage rather spinning money. He exhorted that SWOT analyses of the proprietor and the product or service he deals into gave answers to quite a lot of initial queries and inhibitions. Further he said one must dedicatedly work on the threats to transform them into strengths to boom in the business.
Mandeep Madia, Director BL Minerals was next alumni who deliberated on how ‘out of thinking’ helped diversify the family business. He advised the students to understand the theory taught in class rooms thoroughly to be able to build strong implementation foundations into businesses. He said a sound academic base helped a budding entrepreneur to grasp practical application easily. Mr. Madia, a widely traveled man shared also his views on the varied business environment prevalent all across the country. He advocated that a passionate business attitude along with great sense of business acumen overcame all odds.
Satinder Singh, Director Momentum Infotech and Brandemix, a New York based Company was the next resource person for the day. He encouraged the students to be pioneers in generating new business ideas. He elaborated on idea of knowledge business where knowledge-intensive support is provided for the business processes of other organisations.
Baljeet Kaur, Project Officer, RCED elaborated on the importance of life skills and soft skills in taking the business to a new height.” Excellence is the only remedy to unemployment”, Said Mrs. Baljeet while motivating the students to become extraordinary to perform extraordinary.
Prof. Prithipal Singh Kapur, President, GKEC gave the presidential remarks and said determination, clarity and vision were the keys to success.
Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Co-ordinator proposed a vote of thank to the esteemed guests and expressed his interest in setting up of entrepreneurial development cell at the institute for giving industry exposure to the students.
Gursharan Singh Narula, Senior Vice President, GKEC, Principal Dr. P. S Khattra were also present on the occasion.
