GGNIMT, Ludhiana in association with SECUGENIUS began with its first day of two day international conference on “Effective IT Security Evolution” at GGNIMT campus at Ludhiana on Saturday.
Ludhiana, May 25, 2013: Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT), Ludhiana in association with SECUGENIUS began with its first day of two day international conference on “Effective IT Security Evolution” at GGNIMT campus here today.
Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab was the Chief Guest for the first session. The event witnessed a panel of leading professional, academicians and technocrats from various countries to deliberate on computer related security issues. Some of the eminent speakers in the first session were: Shenddy Jimenez, H. R official at Jalasoft S.R.L Bolivia, South America. She highlighted the present scenario of global cyber crime with special reference to India.
Ivneet Singh, Head of Computer Forensics in a leading Forensic Accounting and investigative firm at Kaula Lumpur, Malaysia. He made an elaborative presentation on “Crime Free Punjab” He briefed the gathering about the various threats and measures to counter attack them.
Kailash Aggarwal, Security Analyst, SECUGENIUS deliberated on the cyber crime investigation. He discussed in length about the operations of a seasoned computer criminal and ways to tackle such evils.
These expert talks were followed by a book launch ceremony. The Book titled “Security breached” authored by Er. Harpreet Khattar and Er. Kshitij Adhlakha, Founder Directors of SECUGENIUS was released by Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal.
The second session of the day was chaired by Chief Guest Dr. A. S Rai, IG Police Head Quarter, Chandigarh. Appreciating the fact that such conferences should be conducted to generate awareness among masses, he himself made a presentation and outlined the devastating effects of this evil.
Shubhamoy, Security Consultant was the next speaker in list who deliberated on the defense mechanism for a web developer.
Dr. S.N. Panda, Principal RIMT also presented his expert talk on Cyber Security. He gave various tips and tricks to secure onself on the online world. The session concluded with the warm remarks from both the Chief Guests who felt that massive awareness about this evil can help root out this menace from our society.
