KMVites celebrates World Photography Day

On the occasion of World Photography Day, the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, on Monday, organising a one day workshop on photography.

Jalandhar, August 19, 2013: On the occasion of World Photography Day, the department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya organised a one day workshop on photography. 

Janmeja Singh Johal, a renowned photographer who has exhibited more than 300 exhibitions all over the world and is a writer of books of photography was the guest speaker on the occasion. 

In the first session of the workshop, Johal explained the basic concepts of photography. 

Later, an exercise on photography was carried out wherein students were assigned different topics like nature, portrait, college life etc. and they clicked pictures. 

In the post lunch session, Johal discussed various aspects of photojournalism and checked soft copies of photography assignment.  He explained the particularities of a good photograph. 

This workshop was attended by student of B.A. (Journalism & Mass Communication). 

Proper respect to women may develop spirit of Teej

Ludhiana, August 19, 2013: A woman is concerned with different relations like mother, sister and wife. A proper respect to her establish the character of society, so it’s our social duty to pay respect to every relation which is connected with women. It is dire need of the hour to stop female foeticide, if we want to celebrate festivals like Teej. All the girls and ladies gathered here should inculcate this spirit to save the future girls.

These words were shared by Aruna Taneja wife of Dr. Vijay Kumar Taneja, VC, GADVASU at Teej festival of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. She said that it is a good platform to uplift and promote the hidden cultural talent  of girls. 

The Teej festival was celebrated at college of Veterinary Science. A large number of girls from different universities and many colleges gathered at GADVASU Campus to enjoy this cultural festival exclusively meant for eves.

A number of competitions were arranged to develop a healthier approach for cultural traditions. Dr. Darshan Singh Badi Welfare Officer revealed the winner of different competitions.
