Struggle for New Democracy Needed: Seminarians of St. Soldier Law College

One-day seminar being organised by St. Soldier Law College, Jalandhar on the theme “Struggle for a New Democracy Needed".

Jalandhar, August 23, 2013: India is proud to have completed 66 glorious years of her Independence, during which its achievements like building grassroots of democracy, women empowerment, right to information and education, secularism and new heights in technology like IT and space sectors are worth mentioning, but there continues to poverty, undernourishment, unemployment, caste-based politics where money and muscle power plays a decisive role, rampant corruption in every walk of life, gender-bias, exploitations and above all the slave minded and politics of the state and society which demand another struggle for a new Independence to achieve the goals and objectives of our  “Real Independence”.

These observations emerged out of a one-day seminar organised by St. Soldier Law College on the theme “Struggle for a New Democracy Needed.

Principal of the College Dr. Subash Sharma inaugurated the seminar, Dr. Manoj Sharma from Rajiv Gandhi National Law University Patiala presented the key note address on Indian Federalism, Prof. Manhar Arora, Managing Director of St. Soldier Group of Institutions, presided over the function and wished the students to come forward for achieving real independence.

Simmi Thind, Amritpal Kaur, Rakesh, Chankya, Puneet, Akabarjit, Sunny Sandu, Simran, Neha, and Maninder presented papers on the theme of the seminar.

Anil Copra, Chairman St. Soldier Group of Institutions appreciated the efforts of the law college. On this occasion students of the college presented choreography of Bhagat Singh’s martyrdom.
