Jalandhar, September 10, 2013: As compared to other professions in the civilian world, the Indian Navy has a great deal to offer to young men and women. It gives an individual the opportunity to display leadership skills and bestows one with a tremendous amount of responsibility at a very young age. The Navy provides countless opportunities. Men in white command dignity and respect and are always in high spirits as the service offers personal, financial, emotional security and status in the society.
With the objective to provide qualitative personnel to the nation, Indian Navy conducted the Pool Campus Drive at CT Group of Institutions for the recruitment of B.Tech Final year(2010-2014 batch) passing out students. It is worth mentioning that it is the first visit of Indian Navy in Punjab for the recruitment purpose & CT Group of Institutions is the first educational institution of Punjab where Indian Navy conducted the Pool Campus Drive.
This recruitment is under University Entry Scheme (UES) & attract the students of various Engineering branches for technical branch in Indian Navy. As many as 1200 students from various Engineering Colleges of Punjab namely CTIEMT, CTIT, Ramgarhia Institute of Eng & Tech (RIEMT) Phagwara, Lovely Professional University, Punjabi University Patiala, Rayat Bahra Institute of Eng & Nano Tech (RBIENT) Hoshiarpur,Ludhiana College of Engg and Tech (LCET) Ludhiana, Khalsa College of Engg &Tech (KCET) Amritsar, Guru Nanak Inst of Engg & Tech (GNIEM) Hoshiarpur, Lala Lajpat Rai Institute of Engg & Tech (LLRIET) MOGA, Surya World Chandigarh, Shaheed Bhagat Singh State of Technical Campus(SBSSTC) Ferozepur took part in the drive.
A three member team of the officials of the Indian Navy who had arrived at the campus to begin the two-day procedure for placement drive were Captain R.K Yadav, Commander Navneet Nagi & Lieutenant Commander R.P Singh.
Presenting the views Captain R.K Yadav said, “This recruitment drive by the Navy is a special one. It is going to provide better avenues for the youth, as Indian Navy is one of the leading forces of the World. Moreover the leadership skills that you acquire will give you a distinct advantage over others in the civil world.”
The selection process entailed a rigorous criterion of PPTs, Written Test, Group Discussion & Personal Interview. After getting shortlisted the students would appear before Staff Selection Board (SSB). The successful phase of this round would enable the students to undergo the subsequent training that will ensure the selection of the candidate for the service of the nation. The selected candidates will be placed on the position of sub lieutenant & get the salary package as per the norms applicable to the rank.
Two of the participating students Anil Kumar, student of BTech, CTIEMT & Rohini, student of BTech, KCET said, “No doubt, our present assignments are very exigent, but at the institute we have learnt to always have confidence and self esteem and to get the things shaped in accordance. By proving our skills here, we will certainly go for multiple career opportunities ahead in our life & will surely utilize the best of practices learnt so far at our alma mater and keep on scaling the ladders of success.”
Sharing the views Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman CT Group of Institutions said, “While inviting companies to the campus, we have never given emphasis on the numbers.
