Hindi Diwas being celebrated in Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar on Monday.

Jalandhar, September 16, 2013: Hindi Diwas was celebrated in Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar on Monday.
It was coordinated by the Department of Hindi which organised numerous activities to mark this special occasion. Debate Writing Competition was organised on the topics such as are the youth caught in the technology trap? Is the youth of today sans moral values? Is India still a land worthy of praise?
On this occasion, a portrait making competition was organised in which students from different departments related to Art and Design participated and created admirable impressions of Hindi poets like Harivansh Rai Bachchan, Gulzar etc. A documentary titled Hindi Hain Hum prepared by the Department of Multimedia was screened. The documentary highlighted the importance of our national language, Hindi. Poems in Hindi were recited and the students expressed their views on the relevance of Hindi. Prizes were given away to the students who had secured positions in various competitions organized on Hindi Diwas.
Dr. Sucharita said that our national language is as important as any other language. We need to work actively to promote it amongst today’s youth who seem ignorant about the importance of the language.
