Jalandhar, November 21, 2013: Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar represented Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar in 29th North Zone Inter University Youth Festival (15th -19th November 2013) organised by Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow in collaboration with Association of Indian Universities (AIU) in which GNDU, Amritsar won the overall trophy. The college won first position in Classical Vocal Solo, Classical Instrumental Solo, Light Vocal, Group song, Poster Making, Cartooning, Rangoli and second prize in Folk Orchestra, Folk Dance, Mime, Clay Modelling and Spot Photography. The Music and Fine Arts Trophies were bagged by the Apeejayites and they got the runners up position in Dance category. In this inter university Youth Festival, 27 universities from Northern part of the country participated. This achievement puts Apeejay College in an unparalleled position of having won the North Zone Trophy for GNDU, Amritsar for more than a decade. Dr. Sucharita, Principal of the college said that it was a matter of great honour and prestige that our college has been getting the opportunity to represent Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar in the North Zone Youth Festival. Congratulating the ecstatic students, she said that this trophy spoke volumes about the talent, hard work and perseverance of the students. She also expressed her appreciation for the talented faculty who ensure that the students are able to give their creative best in these competitions.
