International Women’s Day being celebrated at GGNIMT, Ludhiana on Saturday.
Ludhiana, March 8, 2014: Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT), Ludhiana organised a felicitation ceremony to commemorate the International Women’s Day. The three prominent women of the region Nirminal Rishi, Renowned Punjabi Actress and Samira Bector, Director Cremica Frozen Foods and Dr. Sona Thind, PCS (Food & Supply Officer) were honored on the occasion for their invaluable contribution to the society.
Prof Sohinderjeet Singh, Honorary General Secretary, GKEC welcomed the guests.
The institute also organised a declamation contest on the topic” Women Empowerment” to highlight the role of women in the modern society. More than 50 students participated in the contest.
While interacting with the students on the International Women’s day, Nirmal Rishi highlighted the sacrifices and compromises that a woman made for raising a happy family. She saluted the women for their inner strength that they always displayed.
Bector guided the young girls to aim high and leave no stone unturned to achieve great heights.
Dr. Thind also gave an inspirational message to the students to respect women always as she is the one who is responsible for the world we live in.
Prof. Gunwant Singh Dua congratulated the winners for their excellent performances. He proposed a vote of thank to the esteemed guests and expressed gratitude to them to sparing their precious time and interacting with the students.
Gursharan Singh Narula, Senior Vice President, GKEC and Prof. Majeet Singh Chabbra, Principal GGN Khalsa College, Harcharan Singh Narula, Secretary GKEC were also present on the occasion.
