CT Group of Institutions conducted a clean Jalandhar drive in the city, Distributed car bins to more than 1000 city residents
Jalandhar, August 8, 2014: Munching on the street food and throwing the wrappers on the ground is a general notion while eating across the street. We come across “Keep the city clean and green” slogan on the board at the entrance in any city. In Jalandhar, this seems to have no meaning.
Keeping this in mind, CT Group of Institutions with a motive to encourage the people towards making their city clean and green held an awareness drive. The management members, teachers and staff members distributed car bins among more than 1000 city residents. The drive was held in different places of city including BMC Chowk, Guru Nanak Mission Chowk, Model Town and at other places.
Under this initiative the residents were also advised to carry car trash bins in their vehicle in order to avoid throwing garbage or waste material on the roads.
It is to mention that Dearth of garbage bins at public places makes the matter worse. Be it the bus stand, the ‘chaupati’ (as we call it) or even in the bazars, no garbage bin has been placed anywhere in the city. People litter garbage in a corner and over the days it turns into a dump. It spreads dirt and foul odour all across the street. Garbage bins should be placed in and around the city. A small effort on our part can make the city clean.
